The New Workplace: How EER is Changing

11 August 2021

One of the key elements of our strategic priorities is a consistent approach on how we can improve. Even prior to 2020, it was important to us that EER was able to adapt to the needs of our clients, the market and our employees. Post 2020, this flexibility has proved even more vital. More and more organisations are finding themselves faced with a new workplace and a ‘new normal’ that looks very different from what they have known. By embracing evolution and change at EER, sometimes in surprising ways, we have been able to weather many of the struggles caused by the spread of the pandemic and make our company stronger for the future.

The last 18 months have seen transformational change here at EER. We have totally adapted the way we work, the services we offer clients and the way we connect as a team. Our leadership team have always understood that by enhancing the overall experience of our employees and our clients, we can produce better results and contribute more.

Just in case you couldn’t keep up with our packed story, here are some of the key elements that are now shaping the new workplace at EER.

The Way We Work

  • We introduced new strategic goals centred on employee and client wellbeing and added new services, such as Virtual Home Search, that catered to growing demands within the industry.
  • We optimised the digitisation of EER to enable our team to improve efficiency and performance times for our clients. Our new automated initiatives included an online portal RelocationOnline, Zoho CRM and Zoho Expenses.
  • We added an integrated HR Platform 1Clique to help maintain an organised structure for HR operations within EER.
  • We have welcomed our first ever interns into the team. Both Maria and Anjana have already provided some amazingly fresh insights and certainly feel like part of the family.

The Wellness of our Team

As we have discussed before, employee engagement is essential to cultivating lasting success for any business. Although we have always tried to go the extra mile in supporting our team, the obstacles they faced in 2020 hugely impacted our 2021 strategic goals. We wanted to make sure their wellness was front and centre in our objectives for the year. That is why we initiated a series of Employee Wellness Programmes and enhanced leadership accessibility to promote open communication that will benefit the company as a whole.

Our goal is to help support our team to feel their best, both physically and mentally. We have implemented a series of fun monthly challenges to help with this including a Sleep Challenge and a Weight Loss Challenge. There have been team building days, fun competitions with prizes, our monthly Rockstar award and wellness classes. On the communication side, we have introduced Manager Walk and Talks and regular 1:1 meetings where employees are encouraged to openly discuss anything that might be bothering them, both in and outside of work.

Looking Forward

One thing is for sure, we are committed to retaining our flexible approach moving forward. The new workplace traditions are yet to be formed in a post-covid world so companies need to keep evaluating their methods and performance to find the right balance. There is so much for us to look forward to, albeit with cautious trepidation as we venture towards the light at the end of the tunnel. We have already achieved one of our top goals for 2021, the recertification of the EuRA seal. EER is lucky enough to be the only UAE company certified with this seal in 2017 and in 2021, and we look forward to continuing to work with this amazing organisation as we look to the future.
