The Roads and Transport Authority’s Traffic and Transportation Plan 2030 was approved on Saturday by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
RTA officials gave a detailed presentation on the 2030 plan to Shaikh Mohammad and Mattar Mohammad Al Tayer, director general and chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA. It is comprehensive to Dubai’s 2021 plan that strives to achieve sustainable development.
The 2030 strategic plan includes a number of vital projects being implemented by the agency including designs for the Shindagha Crossing and marine stations for Dubai Water Canal, Jewel of the Creek featuring a pedestrian bridge at Bani Yas street and building intersections and flyovers for cyclists.
The plan also includes the marine transport stations project that will see construction of marine stations for Business Bay and Dubai Water Canal. Shaikh Mohammad also selected new designs for metro buses coming along with the expansion to the Burj Khalifa metro station.
The team also briefed Shaikh Mohammad on their five-year plan (2017-2021) which will construct 36 bridges, pave internal streets in residential areas and plans to beautify Dubai roads for environmental protection in tune with the green economy strategy.
