Expatriates in Saudi Arabia will be able to use government hospitals for treatment as long as they pay a designated fee and follow the centres’ rules and regulations, according to the Ministry of Health.
The decision was taken due to a large number of expats living in rural areas where few or no private hospitals are provided, a government official told local media on Sunday.
Another reason for the decision is that government health centres cannot refuse emergency cases, said the official.
He added that the order has been issued to all health centres run by the ministry.
