Dubai’s water authority has awarded a $71million contract for a 46km water extension of the network in the south of the emirate.
The contract requirement was to supply, lay and commission an extension of the network, which is to be completed within 28 months at a cost of AED260m.
Dubai Energy & water Authority (DEWA) said the project is in support of the vision of UAE VP & Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. His vision is to maintain Dubai’s position as a global hub for trade, finance, and tourism, to provide a reliable infrastructure to meet the different requirements for development, and the DEWA’s strategy to enhance the efficiency and reliability of water networks to meet the increasing growth of demand and water flow all over Dubai.
