Kuwait has granted citizenship to 300 people following orders from its Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, revealed the Ministry of Interior on Saturday.
Citizenship was granted to 180 children of Kuwaiti widows and divorcees as well as 120 children and grandchildren of the accepted legal age, said Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammad Khaled Al-Sabah at a statement at the General Directorate for Citizenship (GDC), reported Kuwait Times, citing Kuwait News Agency.
Al-Sabah said the decision will officially be announced next week following approval by the Cabinet.
He added that the subject of delayed passports’ issue at the GDC was currently being investigated.
