Dubai: The main building of the Dubai Safari Park project to be built at a cost of Dh151 million has been approved by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and Chairman of Dubai Municipality, the civic body announced on Sunday.
The municipality also released an image of the upcoming main building which is due for completion by the end of the year when the Dh1 billion Dubai Safari project is slated to open.
The Safari, which will have a 3.7-km-fence around the project, will house a total of 10,500 animals from all over the world representing more than 350 rare and endangered species.
Two weeks ago, the municipality had announced that 75 per cent of the project being built on an area of 119 hectares in Al Warqa’a 5 is complete. It has also started bringing in different types of animals to the facility.
