Bahrain is set to become a prime ‘wedding destination’ according to the 2016/17 action plan launched by the country’s Tourism and Exhibitions Authority today.
The two-year plan is aimed at strengthening Bahrain’s tourism sector through fields correlated to the wedding sector, such as fashion, music, cosmetics, hospitality, rental cars and aviation, reported Bahrain News Agency.
“The tourism sector in the kingdom boasts a wide range of offerings and benefits and our plans to focus on the wedding sector is a part of the diverse portfolio that Bahrain can offer its visitors,” said chief executive of Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, Sheikh Khalid Al Khalifa.
He said the plan will be promoted through various social media channels, tourism websites and television channels such as MBC.
