Dubai’s Burj Al Arab has unveiled its much-anticipated beach resort.
The Terrace, a 10,000 sq m artificial island housing a luxury leisure facility, stretches 100m into the Arabian Gulf from behind the iconic hotel.
It boasts freshwater and saltwater pools, beach, restaurant and bar, plus private cabanas with butler service.
Membership of the Terrace’s leisure club will cost AED100,000, reports The National – though members will also receive a free night’s stay at the hotel’s Royal suite, Rolls-Royce chauffeur, a helicopter tour of Dubai and a 24-carat gold plated membership card.
A family package, for a couple and two children, will cost AED125,000.
The facility was built by Finnish firm Admares, which specialises in the construction of cruise ships and yachts, at a shipyard site in Finland before being transported by ship in eight pieces to Dubai.
