83 expats deported in Oman after labour law violations

A hundred expatriate workers were arrested and 83 were deported in Oman for violating the country’s labour law during April.

The action was taken as part of a labour inspection operation by the Directorate General of Manpower in Al Dhahirah, according to Times of Oman.

During the month, 118 companies were inspected and 178 cases of absconding workers were recorded.

In the past few years, Oman has arrested and deported thousands of expats for labour law violations.
