The world’s top-ranked college for entrepreneurship will help create a new institute in Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), with classes beginning from next year.
The College for Business and Entrepreneurship at KAEC is being developed by a subsidiary of Babson College, a Massachusetts-based private business school, with US defence giant Lockheed Martin providing 10 years of funding. The project will be led by a third partner, the Saudi Arabia Economic Offset Programme.
The move is designed to boost KAEC’s credentials as an educational and entrepreneurship hub. Located about an hour north of Jeddah on the Red Sea coast, the $100 billion megaproject features a major point, an Industrial Valley, a series of residential communities and strong transport connections to other cities in the country.
The college will be based on Babson’s methodology and expertise, which has made the school the number-one ranked college in America for the past 20 years, according to US News & World Report.
