Siemens signs energy cooperation agreement with Iraq

German engineering firm Siemens has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with government of Iraq aimed at strengthening collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Oil & Gas for modernising the country’s Oil and Gas sector.siemens-turbine-man_499x333

Under the terms of the agreement, Siemens will develop an enhanced energy concept to advise the Iraqi government on the development and optimisation of the country´s energy sector including power generation mix.

“With this important agreement we intensify the long lasting partnership between Siemens and Iraq,” said Siegfried Russwurm. “With our broad portfolio and comprehensive expertise in power generation, transmission as well as in Oil and Gas sector we will assist and support the Iraqi Government to develop a sustainable and modern electricity system to ensure the country’s economic and social development.”
