The contributions of Indian expatriates were praised by the UAE Ambassador to India on Wednesday.
Dr Ahmed Al Banna described their role in economic development for both countries during a meeting with the state of Kerala’s chief minister, Oommen Chandy.
The ambassador said the UAE plans to open a consulate in Kerala’s capital, Thiruvananthapuram, next month, according to Wam, the state news agency.
Mr Chandy hailed UAE efforts towards safeguarding Indian expats’ businesses and interests.
